I wanted to pass along some information reference the reopening of Area Census Offices (ACOs) throughout the State of Ohio this week and resuming Update Leave field operations on June 3rd. The offices are conforming with Federal, State, and Local guidelines with their operating status and safety/protective procedures to protect the staff and the public. The Update Leave affects the Villages of Green Camp, Morral, and Waldo within Marion County.
Update Leave was suspended on March 18, 2020 due to COVID-19. The Update Leave operation includes those residences which do not have a city-style address and receive their mail via PO Box (less than 5% of the US population). It involves a Census employee delivering the packet to the address which contains the Census ID number for the residence and a paper questionnaire, which allows the resident to respond to the Census online, via telephone, or mail. Update Leave is a completely contactless operation.
I wanted to make you aware of these operations within the County to inform the Law Enforcement agencies and County staff in the case of constituent inquiries. Attached are 3 documents that name the ACO openings, FAQs on resuming 2020 Census Operations, and an Update Leave Informational Sheet. I have included the link to Census Fact Sheets, such as those attached, that also include sheets translated to other languages ( https://www.census.gov/library/fact-sheets.html ).
I will continue to keep you updated on any additional operations that will resume, and please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or inquiries from constituents. Thank you very much, and please feel free forward to members of the CCC and other leadership within the County for their situational awareness.
Regards,
Chad

May 1st, 2018 the City of Marion adopted a Complete Streets Policy.
Complete Streets strive to provide the best possible blend of service, mobility, and safety for citizens of all ages, income levels, and abilities. The City of Marion has had its own complete street policy of, when doing major sanitary and storm sewer replacement, replacing everything, including pavement base, curbs, and sidewalks. This new policy is consistent with the existing policy, but goes beyond to include the transportation improvements for all users, where feasible.
